What is Andarine (S4)?
S4 (Andarine), like Ostarine, Ligandrol, etc., is an orally available, non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM).
The name says it all: SARMs act selectively-that is, only in a tissue-specific manner-at the androgen receptor. Therefore, they have no or hardly any side effects, especially compared to anabolic steroids or prohormones. Nevertheless, since they have a very strong effect in terms of muscle building, fat burning, performance enhancement and strength building, they have become increasingly popular in the sports scene.
Andarine was originally developed in medicine to treat conditions such as muscle wasting, osteoporosis, and prostatic hypertrophy (an excessive, benign enlargement of the prostate). Scientists have been able to find that Andarine acts selectively on anabolic organs such as muscle and bone, whereas it stimulates androgenic organs such as the prostate significantly less. At the same time, it does not inhibit the production of LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), nor does it increase estrogen synthesis. That is why the SARM S4 has become so popular with bodybuilders.
Effect Andarine (S4)
As already mentioned, Andarine increases muscle growth and bone mass without significantly affecting the prostate or natural hormone levels (especially the luteinizing hormone LSH and the follicle-stimulating hormone FSH). It is also particularly encouraging that S4 does not increase aromatase – the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. So there are few, if any, side effects.
The SARM S4 also appears to be 100 percent bioavailable. This means that the amount you take will be available in the target tissues – muscles and bones, etc.
Andarine does not bind as strongly to the testosterone receptor as, for example, Ostarine. The gains in muscle mass are solid nonetheless. Experiments showed that S4 exhibited similar anabolic effects to low doses of testosterone. In addition to more muscle mass, users were also able to build more strength. However, most users use Andarine for diet phases for fat loss because the SARM inhibits LPL (lipoprotein lipase). This is an enzyme that is responsible for the storage of fat in the tissues.

Andarine side effects

Since there are no final scientific studies on the effect of S4 yet, we asked users about their experiences with Andarine. Some S4 users said the effect was very similar to Anavar.
Most strength athletes used the SARM during the diet phase to lose more fat, get a dry look, and at the same time maintain or build muscle mass. The muscle gains were less than with, for example, Ostarine. However, this is not what the SARM is intended for. Andarine mainly ensures that users can maintain muscle mass during the diet. Therefore, they were also pleased with small gains in muscle and strength. Most users were extremely satisfied with the amount of body fat lost.
None of the users reported any unpleasant side effects. Very few described worsened vision at night. Many users made the experience that their joints and bones felt more stable and resilient. SARM S4 in Germany: Is Andarine legal?
Caution: We may and can not make any legally binding statements, but want to show you the legal situation known to us (as of April 2021) in the following. Please always inform yourself about the respective legal situation in your country before buying and consuming Andarine (S4).
As described earlier, Andarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator. The possession and use of SARMs is restricted in Germany. According to the Anti-Doping Act (AntiDopG §2) and Doping Substances Quantity Ordinance (DmMV), the following is allowed:
You may possess and consume andarine (S4) from legal sources in small amounts – a maximum of 90 mg – as an amateur athlete who does not wish to gain a competitive advantage.
Most supplements have a dosage between 25 and 30 mg. So you may legally possess between 3 and 3.5 daily servings, depending on the supplement.
S4 in competitions
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) included SARMs on its banned list as “other anabolic substances” as early as 1998. Andarine is therefore doping relevant and therefore banned in sports organized competitions.
So if you want to participate in competitions or you already do, it is neither allowed to possess S4 nor to use it.
Intake and dosage Andarine
Unfortunately, Andarine has a very low half-life of 2 to 5 hours. Therefore, you should divide your daily ration on several doses. This ensures that your body is ideally supplied with the active ingredient throughout the day and Andarine can show its full effect. Please always pay attention to the taking and dosage of S4 exactly to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Basically, in addition to the division into three to four doses throughout the day:
- Normal andarine regimen: 50 milligrams daily for four to ten weeks
- Mass gain: up to 75 milligrams per day for four to eight weeks
- Diet and definition: 50 milligrams a day for six to ten weeks
SARM S4 (Andarine) for women?
Meanwhile, more and more women rely on the effect of SARMs S4, because Andarine effectively increases fat loss and muscle building without causing hormonal disturbances or water retention. However, if you want to use Andarine as a woman, you should reduce the dosage. Please pay close attention to the manufacturer’s instructions. We advise taking a maximum of 24 to 35 milligrams daily – divided into three to four doses – for a maximum of eight weeks.
